Pasqal co-founder Alain Aspect wins Nobel Prize

Some months ago the Positron team - in an internal strategy session - fantasised about what would make us proud looking back when wrapping up our first fund in 12+ years from now. One of the semi-serious things we came up with, is that we should have at least one Nobel Prize winner among the scientist-founders of our portfolio of companies:

Well, that came a bit earlier than expected. Today it was announced that Alain Aspect, co-founder of Pasqal, won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics together with John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger, for their work on entangled photons.

Positron Ventures got entangled with Pasqal through our investment in Qu & Co, who merged with Pasqal earlier this year. Of course this is more luck than wisdom, but it is nevertheless nice to reach one of our targets many years earlier than we had expected. We’ll raise the bar! ;-)
