Our deepdive approach

We invest in scientist-entrepreneurs working on a breakthrough in their field, across the natural sciences.

To grasp whether something is a breakthrough, we need to thoroughly understand the state of science in that field. Therefore, we proactively conduct deepdives in scientific niches. A team member takes a couple of months to talk to scientists and experts in a field, digest the literature, attend scientific conferences and figure out which approach and research group stands out.

Beyond spotting outliers and with that making better investment choices, at Positron we just enjoy deeply understanding a field of science. And as a bonus, we think it also greatly helps us to support the scientist-entrepreneurs we end up working with.
